Linda Jo Blackard

March 18, 1954 — November 11, 2024

Fairfield

Fairland, Indiana – Linda Jo Blackard, 70, passed away peacefully after being comforted by her beloved husband Randall Blackard.

Linda was born to parents George & Patricia (Shaw) Hogge in Indianapolis, Indiana, on March 18, 1954. She graduated from Warren Central High School in 1972. Most importantly, she met Randy there. They soon began dating and were married in 1974. They celebrated 50 years of marriage together this year.

Linda retired from Ford after many years of service, and always worked to ensure operations ran smoothly.

Outside of work, Linda enjoyed traveling to concerts with Randy, her favorites being Elvis and Neil Diamond. You could also find her at Pacer games or scrapbooking with her sister-in-law. She enjoyed memorable vacations to Hawaii, Italy, and especially Florida.

Linda was a welcoming presence to so many, and she welcomed all who came into her life. She never turned anyone from her door and strangers were just friends she hadn’t yet made.

In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her sister, Sandy Graham.

She is survived by her husband, Randall Blackard, children Erin Abel (Jason) and Scott Blackard; brother Sam Hogge, and grandchildren Sydney and Camden.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 10 am – 12 pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East (10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229) with funeral services following at 12 pm. Burial will take place immediately following services.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial donations to be made in Linda’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Association.
