Linda C. Beattey, 77, passed away peacefully with family present on August 22nd, 2024.

She was born in Virginia, March 20th, 1947, to parents Glenn and Joan (Wilkinson) Allen. Linda moved to Indiana with her family at a young age and graduated from Triton Central High School. As a young woman she married (Lowell Edward Spencer, III. (Les) deceased), and they had one child, Shelley.

After working as a beautician, she began a career in real estate in the 1970’s. She was a dedicated and outstanding businesswoman and manager who won various sales awards, and in the 1990’s won best interior design for the Home Show. Linda was married in 1988 and co-owner with Michael K. Beattey, (deceased) of the Beattey Company, a building and real estate company. They loved traveling, boating, hosting family and friends, growing their company, and working with team building and having sales events.

Linda loved to travel from the time she was a young woman and would often include family and friends. She loved to see new places and learn new things; theater, symphony, lectures, and museums. Linda had an extensive library especially filled with autobiographies. She had said, “I like to learn how other people live.”

Linda was lovely, talented, gifted and generous. People have described her as a teacher and mentor. She was curious, adventurous and enjoyable to be around. She gave all she could to whatever she did, and was known for her generosity. Linda had friends going back to her school days, and in different parts of the world.

Linda is survived by her daughter Shelley Spencer-Hellmich; son-in-law Ronald Hellmich; brother Michael Allen; niece Angela Allen; nephews Aaron Armstrong and Eric Allen; and many cousins.

She is preceded in death by her father Marvin Glenn Allen; mother Joan (Wilkinson) Allen; spouse Michael Beattey; sister Debra Armstrong.
