Lillie Jines, 70, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at IU Methodist hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana accompanied in love by her daughter. Lillie was born on June 12, 1946 in Redbird, Kentucky to Sherman and Fannie Mills. She married Alfred Jines on July 3, 1964 who precedes her in death.
Lillie was a survivor; she battled cancer in many forms from an early age. Lillie never wavered facing death but embraced the joys of life. She loved bowling and the outdoors. When able, Lillie and Alfred spent much of their free time hunting ginseng and yellow root. Fishing also brought her great joy. Later in life, when going outdoors was too much for her, Lillie found other ways to enjoy life. Playing bingo and frequenting the Casino’s while living in Florida. After Alfred passed and she moved back to Indianapolis, all the years of Dialysis caught up to her. Lillie Spent her later year’s mostly in doors being taken care of by her daughter. Most would have fallen into a depression but Lillie, like so many times in her life, found something about life to bring her joy. The source of her joy was coloring and playing with her Great- grandchildren. Lillie use to say, “Life isn’t simple, but the beauty of it is. You can always start over. It will always get easier.” Lillie left behind a legacy for us all. Fight and enjoy every waking moment.
