Lillie C. "Carol" Devney

Lillie C. “Carol” Devney, passed away on January 11, 2023, at the age of 81.  Carol was born in Kentucky on September 17, 1941, to parents, Ervin Porter and Hallie Opal (Kemp) Dillehay.  She married the love of her life, John R. Devney on November 8, 1958, and retired from Von Duprin, where she worked as a group leader.

Carol loved traveling, trying her luck at the casinos, and watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and The Price is Right.  She adored her family and was the true definition of selfless love.  She will be lovingly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Hallie; son, Scott Devney; siblings: John, Eddie, Jerry, Clyde, Patty Sue, Elizabeth and Juanita; and brother and sisters-in-law: Ramona Gause (Benny), Gloria McNulty (John), Donna Williams (Bill), Patty Ambs (Herb), Carole Wilson and Paul Wiley.

Carol is survived by her husband of 64 years, John R. Devney; children: Deborah Denny, John Devney (Michelle) and Rodney Devney; grandchildren: Kayla, John James, Callie, Alexa, Jessica and Jordan; great-grandchildren: Aleigha, Elijah and Isabella; sister, Alice Wilkinson; brother and sisters-in-law: Martine Thibo, Judy Wiley and James Devney (Carol); and many other loving family members and beloved friends.

Visitation will be held from 3pm until 7pm, Wednesday, January 18, 2022, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis.  Entombment will be private in Washington Park East Cemetery.
