Lewis Francis Morrow  

Passed away September 21^st 2018 at the age of 90.  He was born on April 14, 1928 in Indianapolis, Indiana as the son of the late Merrill and Gladys (Hendrickson) Morrow.  They moved to Mooresville IN in 1936 where Lewis attended Mooresville High School.  He was married to Josephine on May 1^st 1953 and they were married for over 58 years.

Lewis was in the US Navy for nearly 6 years during the end of WWII and then the Korean War.  He was on board the USS Worcester, a light cruiser.  On it, he circled the globe completely without crossing the equator as one of his many Navy stories goes.  He was an avid story teller and enjoyed sharing his experiences from around the world.  After leaving service, he went to work at the Naval Ordinance Plant Indianapolis (later NAFI and NAC) as a machine parts quality inspector and retired from there.

Lewis attended Post Road Christian Church where he served as an usher for many years.  He never met a stranger and brought a smile to everyone he met with his joy and playfulness.

He was a Boy Scout leader of troop 696, life-time member of the American Legion Post 485, member of NARF Chapter 2197 and an NRA member.  He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and was known for the best tasting tomatoes in town.  He will be dearly missed by those left behind, but is now at peace in the arms of the Lord and together again with Josephine.

He is survived by son Michael Morrow, (Mary Ellen Head Morrow), granddaughters Shannon (Christian) Brooks and Rebecca Morrow and Great-granddaughter Lyra Joy Brooks.  He was preceded in death by his mother, father, sister Mary Athlene Brown, and brothers Roy A. Morrow and Ralph I Morrow.

Friends may call September 29th from 12:00pm-2:00pm at Flanner and Buchanan Washington Park Cemetery East 10722 E Washington St.  Funeral services will be held 2:00PM at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
