Levy Dumlao Soliven passed away on January 26, 2018, at the age of 75.
Levy was born on December 22, 1942 in Quezon City, Philippines to the late Leopoldo Urbi Soliven and Estefania Dumlao Soliven. He attended the Mapua Institute of Technology and graduated with a degree in chemical engineering.
In 1976, Levy immigrated to the United States with his family and laid roots in Indianapolis. Upon arriving in the U.S., Levy began his 42-year career as an engineer with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, where he was employed until the time of his death. Levy was a long-time and well-respected member of the Barangay Club of Indianapolis, and also served as a member of the board of directors for a time. He will be remembered by those who knew him as a hard-worker and dedicated family man.
He is survived by his wife Tessie Soliven; former wife Yoly Gomez and their children, Jason Soliven (Alicia), Joy Castaneda (Kyra Santicola), and Joan Jane Soliven; grandchildren Ashleigh Chavez (Zach), Andrew Soliven, Christian Soliven, Melanie Soliven, and Hanna Shelton; great-grandchildren Zoey Chavez, Alaina Chavez, and Stella Soliven; and siblings Leopoldo Soliven, Jean Gonzales, and Lulu Alcos. He was preceded in death by his siblings Lewellyn Soliven and Robert Soliven.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 1 from 4 to 6:30 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd North Dr, Indianapolis with Funeral Services beginning at 6:30 PM.
