Leslie Ray Johnson, 55, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away July 1, 2021. He was born June 28, 1966 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Lester Junior and Virginia E. (Nichols) Johnson. Les, as he was affectionately known, was the Lead Mechanic for the Metropolitan School District of Decatur Township before his retirement. He was a man with many talents, not only with his vocation but playing numerous musical instruments such as the guitar and banjo, just to mention a couple. He loved fishing and hunting and spending time with his loving family. He was dearly loved and will be missed by his family and by all who knew him. Les is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Pam J. (Taylor) Johnson, his children Kayla (Darryn) Coddington, Justin (Nicholas) Fox, grandson Drew, mother Virginia Johnson, and sister Teresa (David) Law. He was preceded in death by his father Lester Junior Johnson and his father and mother-in-law Carroll Gene and Bessie Jane (Carlton) Taylor. The Funeral Service for Les will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 1:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Decatur Township with visitation there Thursday, July 8, 2021 4:00-8:00 PM and Friday, July 9, 2021 11:00 AM until the service at 1:00 PM. His brother-in-law, whom he considered Les his brother, Timmy Taylor, will officiate the service. Les will be laid to rest at the West Newton Cemetery, West Newton, Indiana.
