Lesia Harvey Jones

Lesia Harvey Jones was born July 22, 1965 in Chicago, Illinois, to parents, Ernest and Gladys Harvey.

On Thursday, August 2, 2018, God chose this radiant flower, Lesia, to be with the Lord in heaven.

August 19, 1993, Lesia was united in holy matrimony to Maurice Roosevelt Jones, a union planned from heaven. From this union, they had one son, Maurice Jones, Jr. She was a loving, caring, faithful, wife and mother for twenty six years.

Lesia attended elementary school in Canton, Mississippi, but continued her education in Chicago, where she graduated from Morgan Park High School in 1983.  She attended Columbia College and Roosevelt University, graduating in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.

Lesia had very strong work ethics, starting with her earliest job at Harold’s Chicken. After moving to Indianapolis, Indiana in 2002, she worked for Mid-America Clinical Labs for the last 11 years. She always talked about how she loved her job,she always arrived early and was never late.

Lesia lived her life to its fullest each and every day.  She enjoyed traveling around the US visiting relatives, as well as travels to Europe and Africa.

She was an avid dog lover who has adopted rescue dogs as well as other dogs in need of shelter.

Lesia leaves the family with many memories to cherish.She is survived by her husband, Maurice Roosevelt Jones; two sons, Maurice Jones Jr., Cornelius Robinson (Angela), Chicago, IL; four grandchildren, Shijuan, Ashley, Amariyah, Antwan; parents, Ernest and Gladys Harvey, Chicago, IL; one brother, Kieron Harvey, Chicago, IL; one brother-in-law, Charles James (Lillie), Miramar, FL; one sister-in-law, Beverly Jackson (Louis), Henderson, NV; two nieces, Andrea James, Jenelle Jackson, two nephews, Charles James Jr., Louis Jackson Jr.; one great niece Janiyah Fortson; four God children, Alexis, Alicia, Charlene, Zoey, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
