Leonard Leo Brazus

Leonard Leo Brazus died April 28, 2021, after a year-long battle with complications from metastatic lung cancer. He was 89 years old.

Len was born November 1, 1931, to Joseph and Marian Brazus in Cleveland, Ohio. He grew up there along with his siblings Eleanor, Dorothy and Richard, eventually earning a bachelor’s degree from Case Western Reserve in accounting.

He served in the Korean War where he worked on refrigeration units for the 839th Aviation Battalion. He especially liked watching the K55 F86 jets.

Returning home, he attained some small fame as a folk singer with his brother, Richard. Their career peaked with a TV appearance on the Mike Douglas show in 1962.

In 1964 he married Julie Wilson. They had two sons, Adam and Jon, and lived in Munson and Solon, Ohio moving to Carmel, Indiana in 1974 to follow his business career.

Leonard then worked for several large corporations in upper management and strategic planning, retiring from Anthem at 65. In his retirement he enjoyed his home and yard work, loving and spending time with his two sons and their wives and his grandchildren until the end.

He leaves behind his ex-wife, Julie Borland, and sons and daughters-in-law, Adam and Stephanie and Jonathan and Lisa, as well as his grand children, Nathan and Hannah. Services and Celebration of Life will be private. Donations can be sent in lieu of flowers to Hamilton County Parks and Recreation. Now please get off his lawn.
