Leonard Earl Prater

Leonard Earl Prater, 81 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away June 16, 2022.  He was born in Butler County, Kentucky on October 17, 1940, to the late Carl and Gladys (Marcum) Prater.  Leonard was a welder for Amtrak for many years prior to retiring.  He was loved by so many and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.  Leonard is survived by his sons, Len Prater and Bill (Lisa) Prater, grandchildren, John, Jeannette (Nick), Hope, Haley, Gunner, great grandchildren, Sonja, Zeke, Trinity, Jonah, Ellie, Elena, his sister, Rita (Ralph) Williams and his brother, Kenny Mumford.  Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sonja Prater, his daughter, Lori Sanders-Rippy and granddaughter, Ann Sanders.  Services will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022, 2:00 pm at Flanner Buchanan Floral Park with visitation there on Thursday, June 23, 2022, 4:00-8:00pm.  Entombment will follow the service at Floral Park Cemetery Mausoleum.  To sign his online guestbook and share a favorite story with his family you are encouraged to go to www.flannerbuchanan.com
