Leonard D. Schutt, 90, passed away December 5, 2016. He was born July 26, 1926, in Albion, Indiana, the son of the late Leonard and Beatrice (Harris) Schutt.
Leonard graduated from Indiana University with his Bachelor degree in Finance. He proudly served in the United States Army in World War II. In 2014, Leonard was fortunate to be selected and to experience an Honor Flight. He retired in 1991 as the Chief Investment Officer for American United Life Insurance Company, where he also served on the Board of Directors. He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed creative writing, travel, photography, woodworking, and socializing with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife and companion of 23 years, Carol (Dietz) Schutt; son, Phillip (Jackie) Schutt; two step-children, Julie (Roy) Keyer and David (Stacy) Shreeve; son-in-law, Richard Button; five grandchildren, Stacey, Shelby, Matthew, Michael, and Christopher; and seven step-grandchildren, Kyra, Kaitlyn, Ahren, Karmyn, Izak, Isaiah, and Kathryn. He was preceded in passing by his first wife, Phyllis Schutt in 1991; son, Douglas Schutt; and daughter, Jill Button.
Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2016, at Second Presbyterian Church, 7700 North Meridian Street.
