Leona M. Mcneely

Leona M. Lipps McNeely, 101, passed away at her home on Friday, January 6, 2023.

She was born in Jennings County Indiana on October 19, 1921, to Roy E. and Nellie O. Losey.

Leona was a member of Crooked Creek Baptist Church since 1966 and her faith in God carried her through a remarkably long, humble life of love, happiness and astonishing physical health. Although late in her life she was not as active in the church membership she still served as greeter every Sunday she was in attendance.

She was a lifetime homemaker and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed taking care of her home and her yard; she took great pride in cutting her own grass and shoveling her driveway well into her nineties. She very much enjoyed spending time with her family and getting in a game of euchre or two; especially the winning.

Left to cherish her memory is her son John (Shelly, deceased), daughter Monica, daughter-in-law Kay (Paul Richard, deceased), grandchildren Toni, Traci, Paul-David, Ryan and Danny, great-grandchildren Julie, Meagan, Meredith, Grant, Oliver and Luna Mae and Great-great-granddaughter Addalyn.

Funeral service will be held at 1pm Friday, January 13, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd W Dr, Indianapolis, IN 46228, with entombment to follow in Washington Park North cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of service.
