Leona E. Rankin

Beloved sister, mother, aunt, grandmother of 19, great grandmother of 13 and step-mother left this world on May 15, 2017, just a few days after her 91st birthday. She’s now in heaven with her first husband of 40 years, Edward L. Hearne and second husband of 30 years James E. Rankin, her 6th child Lois Hearne-Stone and grandson Andy Zupan. She will be greatly missed by her 9 surviving children, Eddie (Gail) Hearne, Carol Hearne, Sally Kinley, Sue (Randy) Morgan, Vonnie Hurst, Chris (Lori) Hearne, Nancy (Steve) Wessler, Mary Briant and Julie Hearne-Gates, and her sister Merle Motisher.

Though she was weak the last few years, she was strong in spirit and faith. She is no longer trapped in a broken body and is free in heaven, walking, talking, running, dancing and singing. She was the “BEST MOM EVER”.

A special thanks to the awesome staff at Rosewalk Village for the love and care you’ve provided. You all know who you are and what you meant to her.

Her celebration of life/funeral service will be held at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Indianapolis at 3:00 pm Sunday, May 21, 2017.

Arrangements were entrusted to Flanner and Buchanan – Market Street.
