Leon Walter Zuercher went home to Jesus on June 2nd, 2021, surrounded by his girls. His death from Covid was unexpected. He is survived by his daughters Whitney, Hailey, and Katie Zuercher and their mother Candace Trzaskowski, all of Indianapolis, IN.
Leon was born to Walter and Lucile Zuercher on September 15, 1962. He was the baby of the family and is survived by his siblings – Margaret Ann Harsha (Don), Paul Zuercher (Marvel), Elaine Boze (Jeff) all of Berne, IN and Linda Abernathy of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved brother-in-law, Charles Abernathy.
Leon graduated from South Adams HS in 1981, Taylor University in 1985, and IUPUI in 1992. He made his home in Indianapolis. He spent the first part of his career working at the Naval Air Warfare Center/Raytheon. For the last several years he enjoyed working at FedEx.
He was a great dad to his girls. When they were little, he was not afraid to put on a tiara or play Barbies – as long as he could be Ken the Marine. Leon enjoyed the outdoors and planting trees, so his final arrangements are very fitting.
