Leesa J. Grooms, age 66 passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 1, 2025. She was born in Winchester, Indiana to the late Gene & Jane (Ellen) Passmore. Leesa attended Winchester schools, and some years later chose to enlist in the United States Navy spending 6 years in Honolulu, Hawaii. Upon being discharged from the Navy, she enrolled at Indiana University and received an Associate Degree in Nursing. Upon completion of her studies, Leesa worked for a short time in a Nursing Home but wanted to expand her skills and discovered Home Infusion Therapy which is where she applied her skills learned. She developed a great love for this vocation and the dear patients and families she was serving. Leesa retired from the Home Infusion Therapy nursing in January 2025. She was passionate about her family, friends, patients, and their families that she cared for the many years she served them. Leesa had a very special love for animals over many years. She was unafraid to live life and was known to have an adventurous, free spirit life. Leesa will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband and Soul Mate, Mark, her stepdaughter, Kelli (Eric) Clawson, her grandchildren, Marissa, Aaron ,Cole , her brothers, Eric (Paula) Passmore, Curt (Jana) Passmore, her sister, Nancy (Richard) Washington, her nieces, Niki (Alfred) Post, Morgan (Tyler) Post, her nephew, Corey (Sondra) Passmore, her great niece, Logan Post, her brother-in-law, Anver (Jan) Grooms, her sister-in-law’s, Kathy Farmer (Ed) Rossiter, Candi Harpenal, her many aunts, uncles, cousins, great friends, co-worker and extended family. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by both her maternal and paternal grandparents, and some very dear aunts and, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, 2:00pm-4:00pm at Flanner Buchanan Decatur Township with the funeral service immediately following at 4:00pm. The family request in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Best Friends Animal Society, Indy Humane, any Boxer Rescue, or the American Cancer Society.
