Leah Ruth Pennington

Leah Ruth (Phillips) Pennington 77 of Indianapolis, IN formerly Leesburg, FL passed away December 23, 2018.  Leah was born in Terre Haute, IN on November 21, 1941 to Wilbur and Mary (McClanahan) Phillips. She graduated from Wiley high school and attended Indiana State University and Beauty School, before moving to Indianapolis and working for Western Electric. She transferred to Oklahoma City for work, where she met her soul mate, Don. She retired after 30 years and moved to Florida, where she and Don enjoyed many years’ together, playing softball, swimming, cards and games.  They enjoyed Highland Lakes, where they had many friends old and new. Leah was preceded in death by her husband Donald L Pennington, her brother William Phillips and her great grandson Andy Shiel. A memorial calling will be held on December 27, 2018 at Flanner Buchanan-Zionsville from 4:30 to 5:30 pm followed by a memorial service at 5:30 pm.  Leah is survived by her daughter; Mary (Mike) Karpinski, her grandchildren; Paula Endicott, Matthew (Bethany) Haughton-Endicott, Laura (Carlos) Jimenez and Michelle Karpinski, her great grandchildren; Leah Dunlap, Ethan Lessig, Samuel Haughton-Endicott and Isaiah Haughton-Endicott, her siblings; Shirley Washburn, John (Bibi) Phillips, Donald Phillips and Ellen (Dennis) Eckert, and many nieces and nephews. At a later date a memorial calling will be held in Leesburg prior to the Inurnment in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell Florida.
