Larry was born July 30, 1946 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Albert and Emily Mervar. He attended Cathedral High School in Indianapolis and remained close friends with his classmates throughout all his years. He continued his education at IUPUI. He dedicated over 45 years of his career to the Construction/Engineering business and headed up the construction of the AUL Building in Downtown Indianapolis as well as many other Downtown Indianapolis construction projects. Larry was such a modest man and often talked about that particular job saying his workers were the real reason the job was such a success. Larry played football at Cathedral High School and is remembered as being one of the best players on his team. He loved watching football, his favorite team Notre Dame; he also loved to play golf, basketball and even refereed basketball. He was first and foremost a family man, always putting his family first, he enjoyed boating with the children and grandchildren; loved spending time in Florida on the beach with his wife and family and made many wonderful friends at his favorite resort En Soleil. Larry and Robin recently moved to the Geist area and he loved spending time on the screened-in porch looking at the water and watching all the boaters and wildlife. He married Charlotte Jean Ryker whom he loved and cherished for 32 years. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Larry Mervar, Jr., and Lori Michele Mervar. Charlotte passed away on March 11, 1999. He married Robin A. Trester on May 15, 2003. Larry and Robin spent the following years reshaping each other's lives and were practically inseparable. Larry's family meant everything to him. Larry is survived by his wife Robin; son Larry, Jr. (Nicole); daughter, Lori; stepchildren Alexandra and Micah; stepbrother Michael (Karen); four grandchildren Emily, Max (Aly), Meghan and Abby; and one great-granddaughter, Scout. He was preceded by Emily (Mother); Albert and Josephine (Step-Mother) and brother Tom. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 3091 E 98th St # 240, Indianapolis, IN 46280. Arrangements are entrusted to Flanner Buchanan - Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
