Laveda Moore

Mooresville, Indiana – Leria Laveda Moore, 95, passed away peacefully after being comforted by family on July 31, 2024. Laveda was born to parents Milburn & Eunice (Manley) Lawrence in Bowling Green, Kentucky, on November 1, 1928.

Laveda worked for over a decade at CVS warehousing, bringing her strong work ethic and even temper with her until her eventual retirement. More than that, Laveda loved her family and especially her beloved husband Elmer. They were married on November 15, 1948, when Laveda was just twenty years old, and remained together until his passing in 1982, after 35 years of marriage. She missed him every single day.

 When she had the time to relax, Laveda enjoyed fishing, playing guitar or the piano, swinging on the front porch, or just spending time with her family at home. She always had a compliment for her friends and a keen eye for shoes and purses. She most of all loved to cook, making biscuits every morning.

 In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Laveda is preceded in death by her daughter Neva Stahl (Tom) and siblings Walter Lawrence, Donald Lawrence, Gilbert Lawrence, Carlis Lawrence, and Veria Gammons. She is survived by her daughter Vickie Criswell (Don), Dennis Moore (Teresa); grandchildren Melanie Carpenter (Jeremy), Laura Etter (Aaron), Jamie Kenworthy, and Thomas Stahl, as well as 9 great-grandchildren. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 5, 2024, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, from 12 pm – 1 pm, with funeral services following at 1 pm with Chaplain Rob Mifflin presiding. Burial will take place immediately following at Washington Park East Cemetery.
