MR. LAVELLE ROGERS BRANSON the son of the late Charles Rogers Branson Sr. and Pauline Louise Merritt was born on November 30, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois. He had four siblings, brothers, Joseph Grandison, who preceded him in death and Charles R. Branson Jr. (Cynda); and sisters, Pauline L. Arila and Lolita L. Hyche. Mr. LaValle had numerous nieces, nephews, and great- nieces and nephews. He was married to Vernetta, who also preceded him in death in August of 2022. He was also a stepfather to two sons, Roberty Hyche Jr. and Kenneth Hyche and one daughter Jessica Hyche Gayle (Deion).
Mr. LaValle graduate from Arsenal Technical High School. He loved baking and could make beautifully decorated cakes. During the holidays he loved to decorate the house, both inside and out, and love his sugar/sweets.
LaValle enjoyed listening to jazz, uptown funk, and gospel music. He also enjoyed entertaining his family and friends. He was a big help within his community by mowing neighbors yards in the summer time, and plowing neighbors driveways and sidewalks in the snowy months before he fell ill.
He had numerous favorite restaurants to eat at and he was an amazing listener. He protected the ones close to him. He retired from Yellow Freight in his latter years.
Mr. LaValle was a loving, fun and caring person that enjoyed helping others and making others smile and laugh.
Mr. LaValle passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 10:30 in the morning at the age of 74 at the Homestead Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. LaValle will be greatly missed by so many people whom he had a good impact on.
