Laura K. Murphy

Laura K. Murphy, 56 of Carmel, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018.  Laura was born September 7, 1962 in Indianapolis.  She was a graduate of North Central High School and Butler University.  At Butler, she was a proud member of the Delta Gamma Sorority.

For over 30 years, Laura worked as an accountant for the Defense Contract Audit Agency, retiring in July 2018.  Laura had many interests, including auto racing, both NASCAR and Indy Car, the Chicago Bears and supporting anything to do with her alma mater, Butler University.

A service celebrating Laura’s life will be held at 5:00 pm Thursday, October 25 at Flanner Buchanan-Carmel, where family and friends are invited to gather from 3:00 pm until the time of the service.

Laura was loved by many and will be missed by family and friends.  She is survived by her son, Michael J. “Mickey” Murphy, IV; her parents, Robert and Katherine Nowakowski and her beloved Glacier.  She was preceded in death by her brother, James Nowakowski.
