Laura Bell Scisney
Born: Laura Bell Hall 6-5-1928
Location: Earlington, Ky.
To: Edgar Hall and Mary Hall
Married: Nathaniel Scisney 6-6-1946
Laura and her family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in the 50’s. Eventually getting a home on Paris Ave. on the west side of town. She was raising five sons, Michael, Ralph, Ronald, Stephen (Nijmarose Bond – Significant Other) and Mark when in 1965 the new I 65 highway came through and forced the family to move to Adam’s St. During this time she worked at the RCA plant, then got a job for the Department of Defense financial center at Fort Benjamin Harrison where she retired with over 30 year of service. She was a member of Holy Angels and St. Andrew’s Catholic church. She was also a member of The Knights of Saint Peter Claver. She resided on Adam’s St. until 2017. Laura loved to travel and helping the community. She always volunteered to feed the hungry and clothe the poor. Most of her time was taking care of her family and friends. This sense of caring for people was instilled in all of her sons. Her hospitality was second to none. Laura was the original fashionista! She always said, “when you leave your house you have to look your best because you’re representing your family!” She loved her hats! She may have been short in stature, but she is mighty in the fact she has left a legacy that will continue for generations to come. She will be missed, but never forgotten. Because as long as we live she will be part of each one of us. This is why we remember her life and praise the future.
