Larry L. Detweiler

Larry L. Detweiler, 89, of Indianapolis passed away July 30, 2021.  He was born March 16, 1932, in Fort Wayne, the son of the late Joseph and Ada (Pearson) Detweiler.  He married Jean Ann Patterson on November 2, 1974.

Larry proudly and honorably served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean War as a radio operator. He went on to use his knack for electronics to own several small businesses throughout his adult life, but most notably Centron Systems Company since 1994.  A devout Catholic, he was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church for 47 years. He had membership with American Legion Post 34, National Fire Protection Association, and the National Chamber of Commerce. An avid lover of automobiles, he worked to restore vintage vehicles in his spare time.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Jean Ann Detweiler; three children, Robert (Cyndi) Detweiler, Mary (Peter) Pristasch, and Holly (Detweiler) Lindzy; two stepchildren, Joseph (Carrie) Patterson and Amy (Kel) Winton; four grandchildren, Abigail Lindzy, Christina Pristasch, Peter John Pristasch, and Audrey Patterson; and several great grandchildren.

A private visitation and service is planned for a future date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society in memory of his son, Mark Detweiler.  Online condolences may be shared by visiting flannerbuchanan.com.  Arrangements were entrusted to Flanner Buchanan – Carmel.
