Larry Gene Bland

Larry Gene Bland 83, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on December 28, 2022. He was born on April 5, 1939, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Robert and Frances (Edwards) Bland. Larry worked at Allison’s Transmission for 29 years retiring as an Inspector and worked for Alamo Car Rental Co. after he retired for a short time. Larry was a proud member of the United Auto Workers Local #933. In years past he enjoyed fishing, collecting guns, watching TV, and working Sudoku puzzles. He was dearly loved and will be missed by many. Larry is survived by his daughters, Jeanne Kistler, Debbie (Tom) Baker, Susie (Tim) Smith, Tammy Mansfield, seven grandchildren, and several great and great-great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Barbara Jean (Perry) Bland, his sister, Shirley Mercer, and his brother, Phillip Bland. Services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, 2:00pm at Flanner Buchanan Decatur Township with visitation there from 11:00am until the time of the service at 2:00pm.
