Larry Edward Padgett

Larry E Padgett, 80, of Indianapolis passed away on May 5, 2022. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on April 13, 1942, to the late Gladys and Charles Padgett. After the loss of his parents, Larry was taken in at a young age and raised by Lewis and Irene Doss. Larry, a life-long Hoosier, graduated from Arsenal Tech High School. Larry married the love of his life, Nancy, in 1959. Together, they spent 50 years, until Nancy’s passing in 2010. Larry was employed at Allied Grocers until their closing. He then went on to work at McFarling Foods up until his retirement in 2009. Larry was all about his family. His loved ones were his everything, and he loved them all dearly. In later years, he loved betting on horses for the Derby and going to the casino. Larry will be missed by all of the lives he has touched.

Larry is survived by his children, Randall “Randy” (Diana Chance) Padgett, Tina (Phil) Lynch, and Teresa Gunn; his son in law, Rusty Fullen; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Larry is preceded in death by both sets of parents; Gladys and Charles Padgett and Lewis and Irene Doss; his loving wife, Nancy Padgett; and his daughter, Tamara Fullen (Rusty).

A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 10, 2022, from 12-2PM at Flanner Buchanan—Washington Park East, 10722 E Washington St. Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 2PM. Larry will be laid to rest in Washington Park East Cemetery next to his wife Nancy.
