Larry D. Paul, 76, of Indianapolis passed away on March 3, 2018.
Larry was born on February 20, 1942 in New Castle, Indiana to the late Richard and Sophia Paul. He graduated from Howe High School in 1960, and attended Purdue University studying architecture. While attending Howe, he met and married his high school sweetheart of 48 years, Carleen. He was very successful in his career serving as the Executive Director of the Indianapolis Housing Authority, later as the Construction Administrator for InterDesign Architect, and most recently retiring from Odle McGuire Shook Architectural Firm. Larry was a car enthusiast, he owned several hot rods and was a member of the Throttle Stomppers car club. He also enjoyed golfing, and was a member of the Old Timers Men’s golf group at Pleasant Run Golf Course. He loved coaching his son’s sports teams and being the best dad that he could, he devoted his whole life to being the best husband and father, and it showed in his character. He was a great man, who was full of respect and integrity and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He leaves behind his son, Michael (Stephanie) Paul; grandchildren, Chase and Shelby Rumple; sister-in-law, Charlotte Paul; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carleen; his parents; and brothers, Doug (Jean) Paul and Dick Paul.
Friends and family are invited to gather from 4:00-8:00pm on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Flanner Buchanan- Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street. He will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Larry’s honor may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
