Larry D. Brune

Indianapolis, Indiana – Larry Dean Brune passed away on May 17, 2023. Larry was born to Creth and Mildred Brune in Beech Grove, Indiana, on September 9, 1940. He was 82 years old.

Larry joined the Ford Motor Company right out of high school when he was 18 years old. He worked there for 35 years until his retirement at the age of 53 in 1994.

When Larry wasn’t at work, his passion was for sports of any kind. It didn’t matter if it was racing, basketball, football, but he was especially fond of baseball.

His greatest love though was his family, being able to include them by coaching his sons in the Warren Township Little League or taking them to the Indianapolis 500 race every year was what made him feel whole.

In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his siblings and his great-granddaughter Lexi Poston.

Larry is survived by his sons Richard Joseph Brune (Deborah), David Alan Brune (Lorri), grandchildren Jessica Polley (Jerry), Holly Fellows (Zach), Zachary Brune (Claire Morgan), Taylor Brune; great-grandchildren Haley Poston, Carley Poston, Tucker Fellows, and Parker Fellows; and his very close friends Bill and Mary Helen Moutschka.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the National Kidney Foundation.

Friends and family will gather to celebrate Larry’s life on Friday, May 26, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East (10722 E. Washington Street) from 3-6 PM with funeral services following at 6 PM.
