Larry Gene Brickert, Sr., 82 years old of Southport, Indiana passed away on August 13, 2024. He was born February 16, 1942, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Topperwein “Topper” and Mary Louise (Droke) Brickert. Larry was a Specialist Tube Bender for Tube Processing Corporation for 38 years. In his career they would call upon him to hand bend tubes for aircraft engines if machines were down. He was lead bender when Tube Processing won the contract to work on the Patriot Missile. He was a collector of “rare, unique, or limited edition” items and has a vast collection. He collected Harley Davidson motorcycles and memorabilia along with Hot Wheels and Match Box cars. Larry was a hard worker and a good provider for his family. He had a good sense of humor and everything he collected he would always tell the family, “It only cost a dollar.” He is survived by his daughters, Becki (Tammy) Adair, Danielle (Joel) Viewegh, his grandchildren, Joshua, Haley, Shane, Mason, Garrett, and Zach. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Tommie Sue (Wilde) Brickert, his son, Larry G. Brickert, Jr., grandchildren Morgan and Wyatt Viewegh, his sister Mary Alice Brickert and brother, Robert “Bob” Brickert. Visitation for Larry will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024, from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Flanner Buchanan Decatur Township 5463 Kentucky Ave. Indianapolis, IN. He will be laid to rest at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood, Indiana with a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 5635 W. 96th Street, Ste 100, Indianapolis, Indiana 46278 in memory of Larry.
