Lani Denise Wallace

Lani Denise (nee Kipfer) Wallace, 68, of Muncie, IN, passed away on March 7, 2023 after a battle with cancer, knowing that she is a strong fighter with Christ by her side, is now pain free and celebrating with our LORD.

Lani was born on April 11, 1954, in Gettysburg, PA. After graduating from Shelbyville High School, Shelbyville, IN in 1972, she went on to study Social Work at Ball State University and graduated in 1976 with a BS degree.

In 1973, she met Richard “Rick” Wallace, and they wed in 1976, going on to have 3 children: Andrew, Kinsey, and Todd.

Lani worked for many Pre-schools in her lifetime including Kansas City, Mo., Schaumburg, Il., Albany, In. ending with the Director/Teacher position at Center Chapel Preschool (Center Chapel Church, Muncie).

Lani, a long time follower of Christ, was baptized and a supporter of Church youth functions, from High School through our children and grandchildren’s lives.

After retiring in 2019, Lani also spent her time as an avid bird watcher, naturalist, Monarch Butterfly raiser/releaser. Certified backyard, certified Monarch waystation. She established her own “Little Free Library” in the Country Village Neighborhood. She enjoyed gathering books that the neighborhood kids would enjoy reading.

She was always active in our children’s school activities and now with our grandchildren’s activities.

There will be a gathering of friends and family on Saturday, April 15, at 2:00-4:00 PM at Center Chapel United Methodist Church, 900 W Royerton Rd., Muncie
