Kristin Jean “Kris” (Siler) Sue gained her heavenly home on April 24, 2020, following a long and difficult illness. Born in Midland, Michigan on September 9, 1960 to James and Susan Siler, Kris was the oldest of five children and lived in Midland as well as Miami, FL and Carmel, IN, where she graduated from Carmel High School. Kris then attended Indiana University at Bloomington where she met her future husband and love of her life, Jeffrey Sue. Kris and Jeff were married in Ontario, Canada, in 1985, and made homes in Midland, MI, Canton, MI, Fishers, IN, and finally Westfield, IN.
Kris and Jeff had three children, and their lives together reflect their devotion to family, faith, and friends. Kris taught Sunday School at St. Louis de Montfort Church in Fishers and participated in the parish bell choir. Over decades, she hosted cub scout meetings, sleepovers for high school band kids, parties celebrating life’s small and big moments, and eventually the weddings of two of her children. Kris volunteered over several years, and is especially remembered as an active and vital part of HSE, and Later Fishers High School Marching Bands, as well as their respective Drumlines and Royal Guard shows.
As her children grew into adulthood, Kris continued to find ways to give, babysitting her grandsons, and knitting scarves for her friends and family. She loved children and her excitement as her friends and family became grandparents was infectious. Despite her health struggles, Kris made a point of reaching out to those she loved on a consistent basis, checking on people and wanting to know the details of their joys and struggles. Never one to demand attention, Kris’ gift for making those she loved feel special drew people to her, and she will be sorely missed.
Kris is preceded in death by her grandparents and her youngest sister Jill (Siler) Chapman. She is survived by her parents James and Susan Siler, husband Jeffrey Sue, children Kelly (Kevin) Skinner, Eric Sue, and Justin (Tori) Sue. She leaves behind her two precious grandchildren, Bennett and Cooper Skinner, her siblings David (Cathy) Siler, Kari (Dan) Kusmierz, and Paul (Kelly) Siler, and many more cousins, aunts, uncles, and nieces and nephews. Family and friends were the most important part of her life, and she was loved by many.
The family will hold a small service for Kris through Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in her name to either a Mesothelioma cancer research charity, or to a charity of your own choice that is closer to your heart. Even in her death Kris would be happiest helping others.
