Kevin Patrick Chezem passed away on September 19, 2022 at the age of 61 in Brownsburg, Indiana. Despite his struggles with cancer over the past 7 years, he was an unwavering well of strength and courage to all of us. He joins his parents, Ray and Elaine Chezem, in heaven. He is survived by his loving wife Kathy, brother David, and sisters Rita Kay (Tony) Steff and Mary Jo (Randy) Corson. He was a caring father of four children Keith (Whitney), Joseph (Brooke), Jeremy (Reanna) Toney, and Shelley Bradshaw. He was also a proud Pawpaw to 13 grandchildren: Madyson, Nathan, Maycie, Emma, Gavin, Ella, Rhys, Amilya, Jason, Kinley, Ayva, Maryn, Alaina and one great-grandchild, Vivyan Rae.
Kevin, a US Army veteran from 1980 to 1993, served his country overseas in assignments that included Germany and Saudi Arabia during the 1991 Persian Gulf War. Kevin also enjoyed a multitude of hobbies throughout his life, from building and collecting scale models to watching Colts football. He spent much time traveling with his beloved wife Kathy enjoying trips to the Smoky Mountains, ocean cruises, and multiple trips to Disney. He loved people and cherished spending time with friends and family, especially his many grandchildren. He would routinely attend all their sporting events, concerts, and celebrations cheering them on as only a grandfather can do. Kevin always considered his family to be his greatest legacy. His smile, laugh, and characteristic strength and charisma will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Public visitation will be Friday September 30th from 4 – 8pm with the funeral on Saturday October 1st at 10am. Services will be held at the Flanner Buchanan Floral Park. Kevin will be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery.
