Kevin M Smith

Kevin M. Smith, 60 of Carmel, IN, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2018. He was married to Beverly (Petercheff) Smith. He is survived by his daughter Stephanie Smith (23). Kevin is preceded in death by his parents William and Althea Smith. Other survivors include his sister Lisa Smith of Chicago, IL, his brother and sister-in-law Mike and Rita Petercheff, and his step-sister Michelle Fullerton (husband DJ). Kevin is survived by several wonderful nieces and nephews, Christina, Adam, Alex and Della Young; David, Lauren, Annabelle and Haley Petercheff;  Jacob Petercheff; Dustin Fullerton; and Tiffany (Fullerton) Beaupre.

Kevin was born in Kansas City, Kansas and moved to Indianapolis in 1968. He graduated from Lawrence Central High School (Class of 1976). In 1980 Kevin earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University Bloomington Kelley School of Business. He was an active member in Sigma Chi Fraternity, Lambda Chapter and the Indiana University Athletic Board. Immediately preceding graduation, Kevin received his Certified Public Accounting degree. Kevin worked in the financial, banking and insurance industry for the past 38 years including Firstmark Financial, National Mutual Life and CNO Financial. He was a dedicated, hardworking and loyal employee throughout his business career.

In his spare time Kevin loved IU basketball, traveling, cooking, gardening, music and his animals. He played trumpet in the popular Indianapolis-based band PolkaBoy. He enjoyed attending IU football and basketball games, camping, barbequing with the family, and entertaining close friends and neighbors at his home. His greatest joys were spent with his wife, daughter and family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd. W. Dr. Indianapolis, IN, 46228. Viewing will be held on Friday November 16^th 4-7p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 17^th, at 2p.m.
