Keri Ann Drake

Keri Ann Drake, 49, Fishers, passed away October 31, 2024. She was born in Indianapolis, IN to Richard Charles (Petra) Howenstein and Karen Colleen (Anderson) Howenstein. 

Keri graduated from Warren Central High School, going on to Indiana University where she received her bachelor’s degree in Merchandising and Marketing and focused her career in retail management. Keri loved IU, where she attended and made life-long memories with her sister and brother-in-law. The three of them were inseparable and would stay that way the rest of their lives. 

Keri had a giggle that brought joy to everyone who knew her. Her pride and joy were her nieces who she raised like her daughters. She was their KK. Keri devoted her life to taking care of others, especially her family who she was very close to. Anyone who needed anything knew they could call KK and it would be taken care of. She loved the outdoors and the beach, spending some of her favorite times in Brown County, IN and Indian Rocks Beach in Florida. She was a lover of animals and always had a Labrador (or two) and supported animal rescue with her time and treasures. 

Keri met Roland in winter of 2010, fell in love, and they married on 7/7/2013. To her husband, Keri was a beloved wife and friend, and she showed him what true love can be.

Keri was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents Michael and Carol Anderson and Richard and Ann Howenstein and her uncle Gary Howenstein.

Survivors include her parents; husband of 10 years, Roland David Drake; sister Amanda (Brad) Gentry; beloved nieces Alexandria and Kiera Gentry; uncle Mike Anderson; cousin Nicholas Howenstein, stepdaughter Reagan Drake and daughter Eloise; and cousin Kevin Anderson; half-brother Richard (Kylie) Howenstein; step-siblings Ethan Goold and Katie Batek.

Visitation will be held 4-8pm Monday November 11th at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Rd. Indianapolis. Funeral services will be held there Tuesday, November 12th at 10am, with visitation beginning at 9am.
