Kenneth W Schreiner

Kenneth W. Schreiner, 84, of Greenwood Indiana passed away on April 11, 2023.

He was born in Indianapolis, IN to his parents Earl and Esther Schreiner on July 26, 1938.

Ken Graduated from Arsenel Tech High School in 1956 and married Barbara Ann Linton in 1958.  He was a hard worker and had many jobs before beginning his career as a firefighter in 1968. After 37 years of service he retired in 2005 as the Engineer of Engine 3.  During his brave career he was able to save many lives and was honored at the 1982 Fire-Police-Deputy Sherriff Awards, and was presented the Firefighter Rescue of the Year for saving 2 small children from a fire.  He was a man of faith that loved his family and worked hard for them.  He loved to surprise them with big unexpected gifts.  He enjoyed golf and travel with his family especially with his kids and later grandkids to Disney World.

Ken is survived by his children. Tia (Mark) Heaver, Brian (Lynn) Schreiner, Eric (Kammy) Schreiner, Maleah (Jon) Helton. Grandchildren: Breeanna (Patrick) Bartell, Aspen Schreiner, Tiara (Kyle) Watkins, Braydon O’Laughlin, Sattin Schreiner, Raquel Helton, Destin Schreiner, Alec Helton and Nikki Schreiner. Great Grandchildren: Denver, Brynlee, David, Brooklyn, Sophie.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara Schreiner; his parents Earl and Ester Schreiner, Sister Betty and brother Earl Jr.

A private family graveside service will be held at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 East Washington Street Indianapolis April 22nd.
