Kenneth “Kenny” R. Greene, 74, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 31, 2018. He was born October 26, 1943 in Indianapolis to the late Jacob M. and Gladys Winkler Greene. Kenny graduated from Warren Central High School before serving in the Army National Guard. Kenny joined the Marion County Sheriff’s Department in 1963 where he retired after 32 years of service. He then worked 10 years as the Safety Director for Poindexter Excavating.
Kenny was a member of Englewood Lodge for nearly 50 years, as well as the Sahara Grotto where he served as past Monarch.
Kenny was a loving husband to Ruth and father to Chad (Kristin) Greene and Jodi (Dave) Kelley, both of Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Don and Bob Greene. He was an adored papaw to Jonathan Kelley, Lauren (Steven) Huff, Carly Greene, Amanda Kelley, and Rachel Kelley. He is also survived by his sisters, Janice Durham and Rhonda Clark, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East on Wed., April 4, 2018 from 4- 8 pm; services will be held at Washington Park East on Thur., April 5 at 10am with burial immediately following at Memorial Park Cemetery.
