Kenneth (Kenny) N. Bigham, formerly of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on April 12, 2020 at the age of 88, at the Indiana Veterans Home in West Lafayette, Indiana.
He was born to Valley Leroy and Beulah Adeline Smith Bigham on September 4, 1931 in Denmark, Illinois. He married Barbara Allen on February 18, 1951. They were married 63 years until her death on February 5, 2015.
After graduation from Broad Ripple High School in 1950, he enlisted to the United States Navy and served his country during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. He received an honorable discharge in 1953.
Upon returning home, he worked at Howard W. Sams, as a pressman, and retired after 34 years of employment.
Kenny was affiliated with the Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Kenny loved fishing and camping in Canada, hunting, bowling, golf, playing cards, and especially spending time with his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Tina Marie Lyons of Shelbyville, Tennessee; siblings, Gwendolyn Taylor, Richard Bigham, Sharon Rosemeyer, Donald Bigham, Douglas Bigham, Brenda Totmn, Stephan Bigham, and Helen Miller; 4 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael; brother, Jack; and granddaughter Angelica.
The family will be holding a celebration of life at a later date as soon as the restrictions are removed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Special thanks to the staff at the Indiana Veterans Home, 4th floor MacArthur building, South, for the loving care extended to Kenny during his residency.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Indiana Veterans Home, American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
