Kenneth Gene Mahurin

Kenneth Gene Mahurin (Kenny Butt), 61, passed away on April 14^th, 2021 in his Beech Grove home. He was the loving husband of Jennifer Shirels Mahurin, they shared 24 years of marriage together.

Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, he was the son of Rosemary Blacker and Kenneth Mahurin Sr. He attended high school at Harry E Wood High School (Go Woodchucks!). He was employed at the Indiana Blood Center and worked as a Phlebotomist/Driver.

He loved the Chicago Bears, cars, the comic section of the newspaper and most importantly, his family. Kenneth is survived by his mother, Rosemary Blacker; his wife, Jennifer Shirels Mahurin; his children, Hannah Stoakes, Alex Stoakes (son in law), Kenneth Mahurin, Dalayna Newman (daughter in law), Sophia Mahurin and Adela Mahurin; his grandchildren, Oliver Gene Kearns and Olivia Marie Mahurin.

Preceded in death by his grandmother Adela Childers, grandfather Ray Childers, step-father Jim Blacker, uncle Ronald Joseph Childers, and father Kenneth Mahurin Sr.

If you knew Ken, you know how big his heart was for everyone. He would light up any room he stepped foot in just by smiling. We will miss him more than words can describe. To say Ken made our days brighter is an understatement. He loved his family more than anything in the whole wide world, as his grandson would say.

The funeral showing will be held on Tuesday April 20^th, 2021 from 11am-2pm. The funeral service will be held same day, April 20^th, at 2pm after the showing. All funeral services will be held at Flanner Buchanan Floral Park Funeral Home, 425 N Holt Road Indianapolis, IN 46222.
