Kenneth Gene Chadwell

Kenneth Gene Chadwell, age 86 of LaFollette, Tennessee passed away on Friday June 18, 2021. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a proud member of the 82nd Airborne Division.  He enjoyed attending the annual airborne convention with his wife, Carolyn Chadwell. Mr. Chadwell enjoyed fishing, telling stories, was a world traveler, an avid reader (especially military history), and a member of the Keystone Masonic Lodge. He rose in Rank of Past Master of the Brightwood Veritas Masonic Lodge. Ken loved festivals, spending time with his family (especially his children), his Ford (Motor Company) retiree family, being a Shriner and was especially proud of earning his private pilot license. He occasionally took family members on short flights to and from Indiana/Tennessee.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Edna Thomas Chadwell, son Kenneth Troy Chadwell, grandson Kenneth Troy Chadwell Jr., brothers Henry Chadwell Jr., Charles Chadwell, Donnie Chadwell and Billy Chadwell, and his wife Wanda Jean Chadwell.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn Chadwell; daughters Sherry Dickerson, Pamela White, Linda Wade and husband Willie, Brenda Hatfield, Deborah Durham and husband Alan, Carol Honeycutt and husband Phil, Hester Muse and husband Darrell; sons Robert Lay and wife Rhonda and Paul Andrew Lay; sister Jewell Leach and husband James; brother Ronnie Chadwell; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. – 12:45 pm Saturday June 26, 2021 in the Irvington Suite of Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East with masonic rites and military honors at 12:45 p.m. and funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Ron Whitlock officiating. Interment will be at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
