Kenneth Eugene Bilderback, 91, of Indianapolis Indiana and Galloway Ohio, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, July 8, at Ashford Assisted Living Home in Hilliard, Ohio.
Ken was born to the late Irene McIntyre August 11 1930, in Evansville Indiana. The oldest of 5, Ken (Eugene to them) loved his siblings Ramona Daming (Pete), Daniel Gerald (Faye), and the late Patsy Hamilton, and the late Larry Dale. Ken grew up fishing and hunting and working odd jobs from a young age.
After graduating high school Ken went on to join the United States Navy. He served in the Korean War on the USS Baltimore. While in the Navy, he traveled the world and entertained his family with his many stories from those experiences. While on leave in Boston Massachusetts, he met the love of his life Lorraine. Together they raised four children.
Soon after Ken and Lorraine were married, he was offered a job as an Engineer with Indiana Bell. The family moved to Indiana where Ken enjoyed a successful career, working his way up from climbing telephone poles to a management position. He was a wonderful provider and a fabulous cook and could take any project around the house or on a car and with his carefully drawn blueprints, make it a success.
Ken remained in Indiana until the death of Lorraine in 2012. Long retired from the phone company, Ken moved to Ohio to be closer to his children. His greatest joy in life was his family. His love, pride and dedication to Lorraine, their children Larry (Doris) MaryEllen Berner, Nancy Palmer and Janie Ingram (Paul). Grandchildren, Ken (Ann), Michael, Sarah, Stephanie (Brad), Matthew (Amy), Valerie (Russ), Kelli (Tim), Chris (Whitney), Daniel (Caitlin), and Brittiney Maxwell (Nick) and great grandchildren, Susan, James, Hayley, Michael, Emily, Gavin, Adam, Kaelynn, Gabe, Lanie, Caleb, Lucy, Vivien, Timmy, Ethan, Madison, Jade, Ian, Henleigh, Olivia, and Aiden were unparalleled. He was a gentle and kind soul and could light up a room with his big blue eyes and huge smile. Even though his time here has come to an end, the love he shared and the lessons he taught his family will forever remain.
