Kenneth E. Allen

Kenneth (“Swede”) (Olsson) E. Allen, 89 of Carmel, passed away Sunday July 22, 2018. He was born on April 14, 1929 in St. Paul, MN to the late August Edward and Florence Emelia (Lind) Allen. His parents came to the United States from Sweden and he was always proud to be 100% Swedish.

Ken was known as being a compassionate, kind, and loyal man who had an immense amount of love for his family. At the age of 21 he proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a very strong Christian man who lived out his beliefs through his actions.

Ken is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Bette; daughters, Cindi (Jim) Martin, and Sharon D. Allen; grandchildren, Josh (Suzie) Martin, Paul (Ashley) Martin, and Erin Fleck Hull and Andrew Tamez-Hull; great grandchildren, Kaylie, Chase, and Malachi Martin; brother, John Lind; and a plethora of friends. He is proceeded in passing by his parents; and brother, Everett Allen.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday July 26, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan – Oaklawn, 9700 Allisonville Rd. Indianapolis, IN 46250. Friends are invited to gather at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
