Keith Allen Mitchell

Keith Allen Mitchell, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on August 27, 2018 at the age of 70. He was born in Oblong, IL on August 11, 1948 to parents, Byron Lee and Reba Gene (Risk) Mitchell. He was a 1966 graduate of Arsenal Technical High School and went on to earn an associates degree from LaSalle Interior Design College.

Keith was a prominent hair stylist in the Indianapolis area from 1970-2003; working over the years at The Phoenix, Scandals, Charlotte’s Corner and Laine Wright. He also enjoyed his work as a videographer from 1970-2003. Keith loved theatre and worked as a stage and sound tech in several Indianapolis Community Theatres from 1988-2003. He won many awards for his work with the theatres during this time.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Byron and Reba Mitchell. He will be lovingly missed by his life partner, Ted F. Thiesing; sister, Carol Mitchell; nieces, Amanda Smith (Shannon) and Natalie Groce (Chris); and his great-nieces and nephews: Amaya, Brady, Phoebe and Bryce; as well as many other beloved aunts, uncles, extended family members and friends.

Family and friends may call from 4pm until 8pm on Friday, August 31, 2018 at Flanner Buchanan- Broad Ripple, 1305 Broad Ripple Avenue, Indianapolis.

Charitable contributions in Keith’s memory may be made to the Humane Society of Indianapolis.
