Keith Allen Carpenter, 48, of Indianapolis, IN passed away unexpectedly on February 17, 2021. Keith was born in Indianapolis, IN on July 7, 1972 to parents, Raymond A. and Karen J. (Wiersma) Carpenter. He attended North Central High School before moving with his family during his senior year and graduated from Cumberland High School (Crossville, TN). Keith worked several jobs following graduation before finding his true passion, helping others. He went on to earn his associate’s degree from the University of Phoenix and bachelor’s degree from Indiana Wesleyan, both in Arts and Science.
Keith could best be described as a gentle giant with a hearty laugh and big smile. He had a servant’s heart and loved his work as an Adult Services Counselor specializing in In-Home Care. Keith was proud of his work with the Special Olympics and volunteered extensively with that organization.
He was an avid sports fan, he equally loved both the Chicago Cubs and University of Michigan. Keith always had a soft spot in his heart for cats.
Keith was preceded in death by his father, Raymond. He is survived by his mother, Karen J. Carpenter; siblings: JoEllen (Carpenter) Ebersole, Robert Allen Carpenter and Kathy Carpenter; nieces, Jami Morgan, Tracey Kent and Kellee Schultz; nephew, Jacob Ebersole; as well as many other loving extended family members and beloved friends.
A celebration of Keith’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Special Olympics of Indiana.
