Indianapolis, Indiana – Kay Alspach McVey Goode, age 85, passed away on November 18, 2024. Kay was born in Peru, Indiana, on January 11, 1939, to Lowell and Mildred (Powell) Alspach. She moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Wabash, Indiana, and Dallas, Texas before settling in Indianapolis, Indiana about 1950. After graduation from Warren Central High School in 1956, she was employed by the FBI for 38 years, retiring in 1994. After her retirement from the FBI, she was employed by the Ransburg YMCA for approximately two years.
Kay enjoyed working crossword puzzles, was an avid bridge player, and belonged to several card clubs. She enjoyed getting together with old school friends and also those with whom she had worked for many years.
Kay was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by son Joel Goode, brothers Sherrell Alspach and Clark Alspach, niece Lura Beth Alspach, and nephews Ray Alspach and Steven Alspach.
She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly (Tim) Allanson of Unionville, Indiana and Jill (Jon) Dalton of Vichy Missouri, and four nephews – Scott (Maribeth) Alspach; Brent (Kandi) Alspach; Christopher (Marianne) Alspach, and Bart Alspach. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Ted (Rachel) Allanson; Keegan (Emma) Allanson; Dakota (Victoria) Dalton; Cheyenne (Cordell) Williams, and Elijah (Rachel) Dalton. Also surviving, are great-grandchildren Lyla and Gus Allanson, Elsie and Rory Williams, Stella Allanson, and Val Dalton.
Visitation will be held at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East (10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46229) on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 12 pm – 2:30 pm with funeral services following at 2:30 pm with Minister Cordell Williams presiding. Burial will be held at Washington Park East Cemetery immediately following funeral services.
