Kathy Elaine Flynn

Kathy Elaine Flynn, daughter of Edwin Morrow Flynn and Mildred Louise Burnell Flynn, was born June 03, 1950 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Kathy received her primary education in the Indianapolis Public School system and completed her secondary education, graduating at Shortridge High School.

Kathy, always a believer in God, recommitted her faith in the Lord later in her adult life, being baptized at Eastern Star Baptist Church.

Kathy was employed in her early adult life as a nursing assistant because of her enjoyment of helping people, especially the elderly. As a result of medical issues, she was not able to continue in the profession, and instead dedicated the rest of her life to being a doting mother to her children-Mark, Kim, and William.

Her love for her own children-as well as other children-knew no bounds, as she became what many would refer to as a “surrogate” mother or grandmother.

In her free time, she enjoyed listening to gospel music; coloring, writing, word search books; watching Tyler Perry movies/plays; and her favorite Tv show- The Waltons. She also had a great love of watches and angels, which she collected many over the years.

Due to many illnesses, Kathy departed from us at 10am on March 9th, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Mildred; husband, William Nelson Chapman; children, Mark Anthony Flynn and Kimberly Ann Sue Wright; two sisters, Edwina and Tammy Louise Flynn; and five brothers, Egbert (Ricky), Gregory (Rudy), Erroll (Skippy), Elmo (Ronnie) and Eric (Wayne).

She leaves to cherish her memory-her son, William Nelson Chapman. Jr (Cortney).; two sisters, Linda Flynn and Berona Capps (Shelvy); two brothers, Dale Flynn (Tonya), Edwin Jr (Tuffy) and Roger (Michael); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, other relatives and many friends, who all loved her.
