Kathleen Young of Indianapolis passed away February 17, 2020 at the age of 90.
She was born June 9, 1929 in Indianapolis to the late Merdie and Roxie Elizabeth Fishburn.
She met the love of her life Harold James Young, and they were married on May 15, 1948. They moved into their current house in 1953 and have made this home for over 70 years.
Kathleen was a very established poet. Kathleen was a very established poet, winning outstanding achievements in poetry, and editor’s choice awards for: “Christian Mother, Be a Four-leaf Clover, and He Will Guide Us.” She also loved writing songs about her faith: “What You’ve Done for Christ Remains, and Surrounded.”
She is survived by her loving husband of 73 years Harold James Young; sons Jerry L. Young and Mark Alan Young (Tracie); granddaughter Jamie Holland (Josh); great-granddaughter Maggie Holland; and brothers Charles Edward Fishburn and Kenneth Lee Fishburn.
She is preceded by death by her sister Hazel Dean Fishburn and brother Clyde Roland Fishburn.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 29 from 12 to 2 PM with a Funeral Service beginning at 2 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46229. Entombment will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
