Kathleen “Kathy” Wickman passed away on February 15, 2023 at Suncoast Hospice in St. Petersburg FL surrounded by family. She was born on September 4, 1949 in Washington, Indiana to the late Leo and Agnes Auberry and was the oldest of 4 siblings, Terrence (Auberry), Christine (Dossman) and Madonna (Graves).
Born and raised on a farm in Southern Indiana, she always had a creative way of making great things out of very little, which was one of her many amazing attributes. She graduated from Washington Catholic High School in 1967 followed by St. Vincent’s School of Nursing in Indianapolis to become a Registered Nurse in their final graduating class of 1970 (her picture is proudly hanging in the hospital on 86th Street in Indianapolis).
She enjoyed being outside, walking, gardening, decorating, DIY and all forms of sewing which is where she let her creative side flourish. A giver by nature, she was always there for anybody that needed help. Without a doubt, her greatest joy was spending time with family, and she was especially proud of her grandchildren.
Kathy lived a full life with her beloved husband of almost 50 years, Edward Wickman. While they moved around a lot in their early days of marriage, Indiana was always home. Their place in St. Petersburg FL became a close second, and was where she spent her final days. She is survived by her two children Matt Wickman and Christy Kozloski, son-in-law John, and four grandchildren Emma, Nathan, Alliah and Gabe. Kathy was a devoted daughter, sister, friend, wife, mother and grandmother. Her time with us was far too short, and to say she will be missed is an understatement, but her legacy will persevere in the memories of all the lives she has touched through the years.
