Kathleen "Kathy" Kilbourne

Kathleen “Kathy” Kilbourne, 68, of Indianapolis, passed away January 5^th, 2022. She was born April 17^th, 1953, in Fort Polk, Louisiana, to parents Jack and Margaret (Sunderhouse) Heistan.

Kathy grew up in St. Marys, Ohio, where she graduated high school.

After moving to Indianapolis, she met the love of her life, Donald Kilbourne. They were married in 1980 and shared 46 wonderful years together as a couple.

Kathy was a baker and cake decorator at Kroger for many years before retiring.

Kathy was a strong, loving woman with a big heart. She grew up Catholic, and her faith was important to her. In her younger years, she loved being outdoors, fishing and camping. Kathy and Donald took many amazing vacations together all around the USA. She was a skilled, creative baker, sharing her sweets with friends and family. Above all, Kathy adored her family and loved spending time with loved ones.

She was a devoted wife, mom, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend.

Kathy is survived by her husband Donald; daughter Kelley (Wendell) Marshall; granddaughter Kelsey Kilbourne; siblings John, Jeff, Jimmy, and Karen Heistan; and beloved dogs Koko and Karma “Little Worm”.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers and her dogs Chemarin, Kookie, Mini Pearl.

Visitation for Kathy will be Tuesday January 11^th, from 3-7pm at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East. Her funeral will be Wednesday January 12^th 11am. She will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
