Kathleen (Craig) Schreiner

Carmel, Indiana

Kathleen (Craig) Schreiner went to be with her Heavenly Father on February 1, 2022 at the age of 86. Kathleen was born in Indianapolis, IN on April 2, 1935 to parents Seward S. and Frances (Larson) Craig. She graduated from Thomas Carr Howe High School and went on to earn her B.S.  degree in education from Butler University. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and had been Honored Queen of Job’s Daughters, Bethel #18, Irvington. Kathleen was a teacher with Lebanon and Zionsville Middle Schools and worked in public relations for the Lebanon Community School Corporation. From 1990-1996 she served as Community Care Coordinator for Meridian Street United Methodist Church, a position that brought her great joy.

Kathleen was a Christian woman of deep faith who loved God and her country. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed travel, horseback riding, reading, writing, painting, decorating gourds, playing games, collecting antiques and was a great lover of all animals. For a number of years, she and her husband raised and showed Arabian horses.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter-in-law Kelly Schreiner. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Donald J. Schreiner, whom she married on July 7, 1962. She also is survived by her children: Jeanette M. Vanausdall, Joseph R. Schreiner (LeAnn), Michael C. Schreiner and Donna K. Pauley (Ben), six beloved grandchildren and five great grandchildren, former son-in-law John Vanausdall and brother Robert M. Craig (Sue).

Final arrangements are entrusted to Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Indianapolis, IN. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
