Kathleen Alice (Kaye) Fleenor Perry was born March 19, 1925 in Fowler, IN. The middle child of seven to Laura Alice and Jess Fleenor, Kaye lived the early years in Indianapolis and Crothersville, IN. After graduation from Crothersville High School, she received her stenographic certificate from Indiana Business College and worked for the War Manpower Commission during World War II. After the war ended, she met and married Thomas Eugene Perry. From this thirty-three year marriage, two children were born, Beverly Kaye and Frederick Thomas Perry.
Kaye was employed by RCA from 1956 until 1971 as Secretary to the Manager of the Tube Warehouse and transferred to Secretary to the Manager of the Tape Plant. She sang with the RCA Singers. Kaye worked at Lone Star Industries as Executive Secretary to the Regional Vice President for ten years and retired in 1982.
Kaye traveled all over the world. Cruising was her favorite means of travel. She was a 71-year member of Linwood Christian Church where she sang in the choir, acted in plays, and also played hand bells. She was a member of the Hawthorne Garden Club for fifty years. Other activities she enjoyed were bowling, playing cards and dominos, and lunch out with the Red Hat Society ladies.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother; sisters Dorothy Elizabeth Johnson and Helen Annabell Prince; and brothers Paul Eugene Fleenor, Robert Edward Fleenor, and Gerald L. Fleenor.
Kaye is survived by her two children Beverly Kaye Raspenti (Richard) and Frederick Thomas Perry (John Negley); one brother Darrel Russell Fleenor (Wanda); three grandchildren Laura Kay Greif (Wade), Jennifer Lynn Willis, and Kristopher Todd Johnson (Leah); and six great-grandchildren Justice and Alyssa Willis; and Chyan, Aiden, Adelynn, and Kielah Johnson.
Visitation will be Friday December 4 from 4 to 7 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 5 at 12 noon at the funeral home with entombment following at Washington Park East Cemetery.
