Katherine Jean (Debolt) Rieder

Katherine Jean (DeBolt) Rieder passed away at her home in Noblesville, IN on August 30, 2021 at the age of 70.  Kathy was born in Duluth, Minnesota on July 31, 1951 to parents, Eugene and Audrey (Hammerbeck) DeBolt.  Kathy graduated from Adelphian Academy and continued her education as a registered nurse from Hurley School of Nursing.  Kathy started her career working at Hurley Medical Center and then moved to Indiana with her husband, taking a position at St. Vincent Carmel.  Later in Kathy’s career, she worked at Community Hospitals of Indianapolis, St. Vincent Women’s Hospital, Beltway Surgery Center Hospital and IU Health at the University Hospital.  During her career Kathy studied at IUPUI and Ball State to obtain her BSN.

Kathy loved entertaining, singing, music, reading and watching nostalgic movies.  She also enjoyed shopping, playing cards, spending time with her loving family and caring for patients.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Eugene DeBolt, Jr.

Katherine is survived by her husband, Joseph Rieder, whom she wed on July 15, 1973.  She is also survived by her son, Michael Rieder (Brieanne); grandchildren: Luke, Sofia and Ethan; and sister, Paulette Owen (Randy).

Memorial services will be held at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite) on September 25, 2021 at 2:00 pm.
