Katherine H. "Kay" Nowakowski

Katherine H. “Kay” Nowakowski, 83 of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2022.  Kay was born January 9, 1939 in Chicago, IL to the late Carl and Marie Raff.

Kay last worked at Harcourt Elementary School where she was a cashier in the cafeteria.  She enjoyed quilting and collecting.  Kay was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church and was devoted to her faith.  She enjoyed an evening out at Beef and Boards whenever possible.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm Thursday, June 23 at Flanner Buchanan-Carmel, where family and friends are invited to gather from 3:00 until the time of the service.

Kay was the widow of Robert J. Nowakowski.  She is survived by her grandson, Michael J. “Mickey” Murphy, IV and her sister, Barbara McGreal Jones.  She was preceded in death by her son, James R. Nowakowski and daughter, Laura K. Murphy.
